This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I just saw on FB that Con on the Cob removed a special guest and cancelled related events, after some SJWs complained

anyone know what this is all about? Who was disinvited/banned?

Razor 007

I love that name.  Con on the Cob.  Ha!!!
I need you to roll a perception check.....

My guess is that it was not Santa.

Based on that list, McFarland would be the obvious guess.

Matt McFarland and Robert Turk are both on the Special Guests list on the right side of every page(which I assume is the general layout handled by a style sheet or something else with similar functionality), but are both curiously absent from the main body of the Guests page itself.

Sean Patrick Fallon from Pinnacle Games. I have lost all respect for the con organizers. Even if I could go they are now on my blacklist. They can ban whomever they want. At leas have the stones to not hide the fact that they did. Another con bending over backwards to accommodate the bloodthirsty SJW mob.

Wait... what? Sean Patrick Fallon wasn't on the honored guest list for Con on the Cobb. This convention was started and as far as I know is still run by Andy Hopp. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would cave in to the unsubstantiated demands of the sjw.

I think the guest list on the sidebar may be from 2018; it doesn't line up perfectly with whom they've announced for 2019.

SPF posted last night that he was going to host an event at a fundraising event for CotC, not the con itself, but then the Con's page announced that something had been cancelled, so I guess that's what's going on.

Can we get links to facts?

Let's not disparage a gaming convention if they're innocent.

Unfortunately, everything I saw was on Facebook, and the relevant posts seem to have deleted. Sorry. :(

At this point I do not think they are innocent imo. They are free to ban whomever they want. Do not ban a person, try to hide the facts then do the equivalent of "can't we all just get along". Made worse that they deleted the post where they explain why they deleted the post explaining why the removed a guest they invited to their con. I have zero sympathy for people like that.

I definitely don't support deplatforming of any kind. But on other hand, SPF is a douchebag, so if it has to happen to someone...

So pestering a woman for a hug like Sean Patrick Fallon will get you disappeared, but being a serial sexual predator like Matt McFarland won't.

What a time to be alive.
