This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I watch to Pundit's Youtube videos.

This is not an attempt to suck up to Pundit. This is displaying my honest opinion.

I watch Pundit's Youtube videos pretty regularly. Including Inappropriate Characters.

He says things there I agree with. And things I don't. Which is fine by me. But overall? I find the experience of watching those videos personally enriching. And very much worth my time.

I want Pundit to keep on keeping on. Doing exactly what he is doing with those videos. And never compromise on his positions. Because I believe they are important for people in the hobby to learn from.

The hobby needs people of strong opinions and convictions. Because it proves that the hobby is worthwhile.

Keep up the good work, Pundit. I will be there watching.

I've listened to a few of them, but I don't watch them because there's really nothing in them to watch. What's the point of using video for these if all they're going to show is a product cover and the occasional cat ass?

Mordred Pendragon

I am also one of Pundit's subscribers and I need to update my YouTube channel soon too.

Pundit is awesome, and I still owe him a video review of Lion & Dragon.

I've listened to a few. Best not to stare at the products and treat them like a podcast. It's a mixed bag (about 80% bullshit, with the 20% interesting notions obscured by bullshit-splash). He gain a bit more traction if he advanced his ideas without couching them in his politics, but he sees gaming as an extension of politics. His orthodoxy and narrow framework obscure the message. I think it's perfectly acceptable to criticize (supposedly) prevailing notions of modern characters in RPGs being "broken and tortured." The idea is, "it's okay to be truly heroic." You push how this can make your games richer, you gain some adherents who might not initially agree with you. But...(sigh) Pundit believes these type of characters reflect personal and societal values that contradict his own. Which means if I play a character like that, I must be a left-wing, Starbucks patron, rather than the straight, Christian, old white dude that I am. Even if I agree in principal, I have to take exception to the lens he believes everyone **should** be using, because it's just a hobby, and people are people, and most people are okay to game with. Well, in 50 years of gaming I've find most of them are.

He's not an engaging speaker to me.  I tend to tune him out after a few minutes.  Which is a shame because I'd like to understand his points, even if I don't agree with them.  But I just can't sit through an entire episode.  I want to.

The Millennial mindset plays RPGs very differently than Baby-Boomers and GenX mindsets. And guess what? Politics is a huge reason behind it. If you ignore politics, well then that is just part of the politics that you belong to whether you know it or not. There are 50-year-old woke players. Lots. Go to any game store.

Those 50+ male woke players do it because they think it will get them laid by the younger girls. Or to be part of the cool kids club they threw away all self respect. To me at least both make you look sad as a person. Either way if the so called woke players are interested in a actual discussion or they can put away politics and actually game without injecting them into a campaign that I'm playing or running. Your welcome to be part of my gaming circle. If it's what usually happens one sided wokeness then they can go elsewhere or I do as I'm not interested in that bullshit.

As for Pundit I enjoy his videos usually. now it seems less like trying to get a message across and more an axe to grind imo. Anytime CR comes into the picture it's either a rant or worse "they are not doing it my way so it's badwrongfun". While starting to come across as obsessed about it.

Razor 007

I have watched probably a dozen of his videos.  Some are pretty good.

I like the coffee talk.

Pundit should work some miniatures into the screenshots of his books.
I need you to roll a perception check.....

Omega

The less "Uh"ing he does the better the oration and point come across.

Spinachcat

I want transcripts!

I am interested in his thoughts, but I can't do podcasts. Something about the format doesn't click with me and my brain wanders. I'm bad with audiobooks too.

Nerzenjäger

I watched in the beginning, because I like to read Pundit, but eventually stopped. I really have no need for a 2nd hand Sargon in my YT feed and the same, boring classical liberal takes on hobby news. No offence, just not my cup of tea.

The Exploited.

I like his vids a lot... He pretty much just talks about common sense subjects that should be in gaming.

As well as holding the line for free speech and creativity in games.

That's very much appreciated!

Well, yeah. The videos are really made to be listened to more than watched, the sort of thing you can do while driving or working out or playing something on your computer or whatever.

I don't use miniatures, though.
