This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Animalball Brasky

Tired of your players walking into a bar and seeing the same salty-talking, gruff tavernkeeper that they saw in the last town, and the town before it, and the town before that?  You know the routine: players walk in, approach the barkeep and then roll a Gather Information check to see what they can learn.  Boring.

Animalball Games has the answer for you: 50 Bar Encounters.  How about the next time they enter a bar they find themselves in the middle of a brazen, halfling robbery with Beads of Force being thrown around like candy?  Or maybe they will be approached by an earnest, desperate individual who is eager to sell them a medusa head.  Or quite possibly they will be harassed by two large Yak Folk that will not stop spitting spitballs at the players when their backs are turned.

Animalball Games is proud to release its newest product for free download-- 50 Bar Encounters.  Developed under the OGL, 50 Bar Encounters is exactly what the name says- 50 encounters to use in your D&D or fantasy campaign.  Each encounter is a brief, short encounter to throw into your existing campaign, so short and entertaining, others deadly serious which can be expanded into entire sidequests if desired.

You can download 50 Bar Encounters from our downloads page here.

Animalball Games is a small, independent publisher of free, unique games that do not fit the traditional mold of "mainstream" rpgs. When developing its products, ABG heavily depends on the assistance of its online community to give feedback, input and playtesting help. It is ABG's philosophy that the best games are those developed by the gamers themselves.
Animalball Games: I Rolled a 20!  That\'s Grievous Gaming!

Animalball Brasky

What happens when your barbarian gets his foot cut off by a critical hit from a brigand?  What's the appropriate level of irritation you should have towards Wizards for not renewing the license for Dungeon and Dragon magazine? What's the proper response when a group of children assault your party outside the local tavern?  Is it possible to play a game when you wait to randomly determine the genre, setting, plot and tech level until twenty minutes before you play?

These are the kinds of important questions being answered by Animalball Game's official podcast, the Animalcast.  Join Mike and Kyle on their weekly exploration all things dork: roleplaying, comics, nerd television and Sheila's panty shot in the first episode of the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon.

I know there's a number of Illinois folks here so I thought I'd mention the Chicago Gameday is coming up!  You can find all of the details here:

http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=195209

But to highlight, our very own HinterWelt will be running one of his games.  I'm sure he'll be here to talk about it :)  But in any case his writeup is right here:

http://www.enworld.org/showpost.php?p=3552946&postcount=159

There's no writeup for it yet, but the classic Gamma World module, Famine in Far-Go, using the True20 ruleset is going to be run by the GM of my weekly game!  He's quite good so be sure to consider his game.

Right now I'm leaning towards the Spirt of the Century game in the AM and either the Aces & Eights game or the Black Company d20 in the PM.  Sorry HW, but the Roman thing just isn't my bag :(

Pete

The signups for Chicago Gameday have begun!  Go to this thread at ENWorld:

http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=198044

Have a read at the games' writeups, decide what you want to play and sign up.  Pending approval, I'll be in the Spirit of the Century game in the AM and the Aces & Eights game in the PM.

It'll be fun!

No, Monte's really going to be there.  In fact he'll be playing in the Gamma World/True20 game that my buddy is going to run.  No pressure there :)

And my name's Pete in case you make it and feel like hanging out with any NON-game designers...

James J Skach

My name is Frank...*

Are you kidding?  I plan on hanging out, if I go, with only non-designers.  Like Hinter...oh..wait...nevermind...

My wife wanted to have a garage sale that weekend.  I said "Great, I won't be there Saturday."  So I've laid the groundwork.

* After review, that would be amusing.  To have your fake Internet personna be a real-sounding name. Like, John Michael Howel or something when your name is Frank Meskowicz. ** alas, I am just Jim.***

** On further review, it's not that amusing.

*** think Pundy will let me change my name again? To Just Jim?
