This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: chirine ba kal;1025292E-mail me with an e-mail address I can sent the work-in-progress to. I really enjoy getting feedback and input from people, as it really helps me write; like this thread, I work best in 'storyteller mode', answering questions from the crows in the market place. What you'll get is the very raw text, with no edits done s of yet. (My e-mail is on my blog.)

Done.

Got it, thank you. I'll send the files tomorrow. No artwork as of yet, just stock photos on each book's cover sheet.

If I can bore everyone for a bit, it's been wonderful for me to have so many of the old players out at Phil's getting involved with this project. I think adding in their details and viewpoints will make this a far better book. Which I think is great; Book One is becoming the hardest one to write, as it covers our first adventures - which were very disconnected at the time, but made sense in light of The Startling Revelation that comes at the end of the book. This was also the same point in time where the groups split, and Two takes up where MoG leaves off as we had out to the Southern Continent with dear old Harchar. Three falls in and around the events in "Flamesong", and this continues with Four. Five sees us off to Hekellu to be the Imperial government, and Six tells what happened after that. So, a lot of years in Phil's basement... :)

Quote from: chirine ba kal;1025221Hmmm. Interesting point. I'm at 128,000 words in my book, and expecting to go to 300,000; we had a lot of adventures. A question for those of you who have read the thing, so far: Entertaining? Boring? Too long?
Entertaining, but still too short, says my unashamedly biased opinion;).

Every time you mention Phil's basement and all the fun you had, I think back to how I was sitting in my dorm at St. Thomas with my EPT box trying to rustle up players and across the river was the nexus point of all nexus points! If only there had been social media in '79....

I'll live vicariously through your books.

Thank you! I'll keep at it; I think it's going well, at this point...

I hope you'll be amused. Oddly enough, a bunch of St. Thomas guys helped me run the third Minnesota Campaign, and Larry Bond was a graduate. Small world...

And one with so limited communications, too...

Imagine being a kid at the time. It probably wasn't until I was a teenager that I found out that the Twin Cities were a major part of table top role playing's history and formation.

I didn't know it, and I lived there for four years! It wasn't until '83 that I discovered Little Tin Soldier.  Too much time at the bar and not enough just roaming around either Minneapolis or St. Paul (though having been a zookeeper during my summers I did go to the zoo).

It was Neil Cauley, the guy who took over Little Tin Soldier and turned it into Phoenix Games, that told me about all this (and introduced me to Phil and EPT).

And about 73-75 or 76, there was a Sunday afternoon gaming session at St. Thomas, complete with Larry Bond and I playing STARGUARD!

You should have seen Larry's scratch-built lifting-body retrieval boat. Or my platoon of Slammers. Or my mech infantry platoon in their battle carriers and their command tank. My, but we did some big games back in those far-off days...

Hello Uncle,

I was just looking at the miniatures you posted at the Work Bench. Very nice by the way. I have a quick question about the miniatures for the Undying Wizards, Thomar and Turshanmu. They are painted with similar colors(yellow, brown, red, and gold?). Is this something that you just did, was it something the Professor specified? I do not recall any mention of such in any of the novels.

Thanks,

H:0)
