Perhaps you are correct. Perhaps it was drifting towards that kind of feel. But a forum is a community as much as it is a discussion board, and a community is built on more than just one subject. Well, but they can still do that. They can still talk about movies, books, comics, video games and TV.  And there didn't seem to really be ALL that much interest in politics or religion as topics, frankly.

I don't see how that really follows.  I was never really against political or religious discussion here, nor was it an area that ever particularly prejudiced me. So really, I don't see how not letting people bitch about the democrats or the republicans translates into everyone being part of a Cult of Pundit or something.

I don't hold out much hope that you will respond to this message, or that my voice will make much of an impact on your decision. I simply felt compelled to explain why I am seriously considering taking something that has been a part of my daily schedule throughout my adult life, and removing it entirely.

I just really don't get that, given how underused one small section of off-topic really was, that removing it is now somehow fundamentally ruining the site for you.  Could it be you're blowing this out of proportion?

Maybe you liked reading the political discussion that did come up on this forum, you certainly never posted in it from what I can see. And if it was just reading that got you off, can't you find some of the same excitement out of reading the hotly-worded debates about RPGs that come up here too?

Plus, if you're worried about not getting to see people criticize MY political or religious views, I wouldn't be too concerned, since I will undoubtedly be posting a few political or religious diatribes on my own forum, where people will of course be free to respond in those threads and disagree with me.

What this proves is that there is a community of people who like being here and approve of this site enough to put their money where their mouth is.

Also, your first article of your constitution is out of date and needs to be updated. There are currently forums that you cannot read or post to without registering.

To me its really the same as if someone went to you and on thread after thread repeatedly claimed that you were no different from a neo-nazi.   Or that your not liking chicken made you no different than a member of PETA.
