If you notice that your posts have been blocked by "the administration", or that someone else's posts say "The Admin has decided that x should be quiet for a while"; please do NOT assume that you or they have been banned.

We don't ban people here, except actual spammers.

What has happened is that our Spambot may have accidentally misinterpreted your or their posts as a spammer, and temporarily blocked your posts from getting through. This is something that tends to happen only to users with very low post-counts.

IF this happens to you, don't panic. You aren't being banned. Please send me a PM or an e-mail, or just wait patiently. You will be un-blocked as soon as the error is noticed.

EDIT: By the way, the System Notice link isn't showing properly.

I'm not sure, but I think the type of "banning" that the spambot actually does (which they call "Coventry") actually only makes it so that you are put on a kind of universal ignore list. But, though i could be wrong here, that doesn't preclude people from being able to access the forums themselves or write to the Admins.

In any case, if any of you notice a blocked post that you think maybe should NOT have been blocked, please bring this to my attention too. Thank you.

edit: yes, I know, even though I specifically asked pooka how to do this, and he gave me very specific instructions, and I followed those instructions to the fucking letter. I am now waiting for Pooka to get back online to figure out what the fuck went wrong. :banghead:

Also, I've lowered the standards of the spambot a bit, to try to cut down on these "false accusations". The offside of this is that you might get a few more real spammers who slip through the cracks.

Again, if you find a post that you think is actual Spam, please report it.

Wait.  Are you suggesting that those locations may actually just be gigantic "cliques" that like to exclude anyone with different or unique ideas or thinking patterns, while treating their posters like 7th graders (and whose posters generally act like 7th graders)?

And to think that there are actual, commercial companies who could be harmed by that kind of administration...
