This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Keep the Hard-Nosed GMshoe?

So, I'm going to post my first review to the RPGsite.

For those familiar with my RPGnet reviews: should I keep or ditch the Hard-Nosed GMshoe persona?

Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery\'s thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

Keep it.  I too love the GMshoe.

Running: Call of Cthulhu
Playing: Mainly boardgames

Dude, totally keep it.
My name is Ramón Nogueras. Running now Vampire: the Masquerade (Giovanni Chronicles IV for just 3 players), and itching to resume my Call of Cthulhu campaign (The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man).

I'll join the chorus and say keep it.  It's your trademark, your calling card, your stamp, your tag.  Anything else belongs in your reviews like a pearl onion belongs on top of a banana split.  If you abandon that schtick it'll leave your fans colder than a cafeteria dinner.
For fuck\'s sake, these are games, people.

And no one gives a fuck about your ignore list.

Does Roger Ebert use a persona when he reviews movies? What about the reviewers of the NYT books section? If you want your criticism to be taken seriously, then take it seriously. You're a good reviewer and you don't need the cutesy crap. Pookie is one of the best reviewers in RPGs, people could stand to keep an eye on how he does it.

And nothing, I mean nothing says "take me seriously" like the name Pookie.
