This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

For the Truely Dedicated: Keeping Up The "Mo"

I have the feeling that there are many of you here that really want this place to succeed, and are willing to do a bit of sweating to get it there.

Let me explain something basic about forums: eventually, they develop a "critical mass" of posters that make the forum a permanent success, barring shifts of policy or the like that cause some kind of mass exodus.

The problem is GETTING to that critical mass.

Now, let me rattle of some numbers for you all:

Number of Threads, total:
5 days ago: 1253
4 days ago: 1263
3 days ago: 1304
2 days ago: 1317
1 day ago: 1332
Today: 1342

As you see, the difference has been between 10 to 41 threads per day, with an average of just under 15 threads per day.

It is my belief that we must maintain that 15 threads as an absolute minimum if this site is going to develop "critical mass", and a better number would be to push it up to 20.

So to those of you who are really dedicated here, I would like for you to make an extra effort in these days to keep posting a regular amount of new threads for discussion. It wouldn't take much, as you can see; if there are 10 of us doing it then we could easily get to our goal if we each started 2 threads per day.

I would also ask that those of you who feel they have an interest in seeing this place succeed place theRPGsite's banner in your websites, and place theRPGsite's link in your .sigs on other web fora (especially gaming related ones); and work to get the word out on ENWorld, RPG.net, and the corporate boards.

Doing this, if you really feel at "home" here, will guarantee that this place will be able to serve as "home" for a long time to come.

Thank you.

1) the threads have to be purposeful rather than trite
2) I do attend to other forum as well and feel it important to post equal threads there - as long as they entertain my thoughts.

Im sure there are other things to mention.

Still well done all the same

Well, I did say for the "truly dedicated": nothing says you MUST post two threads here a day... its just something to point out to the gang who's really into this site, that this might be the best way to make sure that the site thrives and prospers.

Anyways, do you think that any of the recent threads I started were "trite"?

Im more than happy for there to only ever be one thread a day, as long as everyone gets involved, fires out their opinions, be prepared to be enlightened, learn something new and maybe, just maybe change their opinions and views about subject they THOUGHT they knew about or want to know about.

And do it without fear of being banned.

Nothing anyone has said has fallen into trite and moot.
