This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What should we be doing?

Quote from: Harry JoyI want Nutkinland to be the replacement for ENW. I can hardly stand going there anymore.

When/If this happens great :)  But I would just like to add, that I hope that when/if this does happen -  a wide variety of systems and role playing discussions are thrown into the mix.

QuoteI come here because I need an alternative.

Same here.

This forum has a wide-open non-policy of discussion on any systems. If people make threads, they will come. :ponder:

You're right. "A little less conversation, a little more action please"...wait..this sounded so appropiate, before I wrote it down :D

well, if we could have a membership drive at CM or ENW that *doesn't* end in a flamewar, that would help...  ;)

one of the best ways to do *that*, is to have a number of good examples of interesting and thought-provoking threads, and someone goes to another forum and says, "you know, we were just talking about that over here..."

and as for me, i was very active at first but i tapered off a lot... well, that's RL for me too.  busy at home, busy at work.  look how slow the Creature Catalog site has been.  i'm still around though!
don't quote me on that.  :)

Visit the Creature Catalog for all your D&D 3E monster needs!  :)

I think Cyberzombie and Scut should make that happen ASAP. Or maybe not.:heh:

Quote from: GunhildaI'm priming the pump, yes ( :naughty: ) but more needs to be done.  We need more Nutkin presence -- but that's a RL issue.

One thing I think we need is more threads started on non-d20 topics.  I imagine our non-d20 user base gets turned off when the RPG forum is filled with posts about the minutae of D&D character builds.  I think we should have a d20 forum and a non-d20 forum, though Ratatosk disagreed when he revamped the site.

Any thoughts on that, anyone?  Would seperating d20 from other systems do any good, or am I on crack?
I think it would be good to make it a rule to tag threads with their appropriate system, or the threads general topic - [D&D], [D20], [Exalted], [Design], [Theory] or whatever. There is a lot of D&D threads right now, and that might not be of interest of everybody, but if the threads were clearly labelled, it would be easier to pick out the stuff you're interested in.

I think a better separation if you want to split it up is to create a separate forum for design, mechanics and theory - whether we're talking about nitty gritty details or about meta-topics around what make gaming groups work. Keep the current forum for actual play, making characters and such.

Edit: Completed a sentence I left mid-thought...

Yig

Well, you could always install a store and allow people to mess with other people's shit :mischief:

I'm kidding, don't ban me.

Too late!  You're already fuckin' banned.  ;)

Dr. Avalanche -- good idea!  Let me think of exactly what I want it to look like...

I'll have more comments as I can sneak them in.  Posting from work is often annoying.  :)

Seconded.
