This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

All Your Mech needing playtesters

I'm in the final stage of playtesting, and need some more blind playtesters.  I have one physical game box and materials I can send.  It includes:

Mech sprues (for mech game pieces, see image)
a dozen tank pieces (see image)
a dozen winks
a dozen meeples, black and white
5 game boards, each 17 inches by 22 inches (see image of the various terrains)
game book (with 10 scenarios included)
Character sheets
100 color transparencies
a dozen paper slide clips
half dozen d10s
half dozen d6s
half dozen artillery game pieces
full color printed game box (8.5x11x2)
and a few other items.

You're pretty much getting a full game.  In fact, better than the full game because the mech sprues will not be in the final product, but printed chit&stand combos will (for cost).

Game Synopsis:  Customize your mech from over 100 transparencies, then beat the shit out of each other, or against a common enemy in campaign mode ;)

3 modes to game play:  Campaign, where you start with a light mech and as you beat scenarios, you get money and salvage to build bigger and better mechs.

Ad hoc:  Choose a scenario or make up your own, allocate budget, and build your mech and play

Versus: Each player gets a mech (or two) and all out free for all battle.

Here's what I need if you are interested:  Feedback.  I only have one completed copy to send out this way (all others have already been sent out), so I need your commitment that you will play the game, test it out, and provide feedback.  Things like typos (I think I got most of them), balance issues, etc.  The time period is about 2 months.

Any serious takers?

Thanks
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

I can't do serious playtesting right now, but I have to say, this looks awesome.

"Well worth reading."  -- Steve Winter

"...seriously nifty stuff..." -- Bruce Baugh

"[Erik is] the Carrot-Top of role-playing games." -- Jared Sorensen, who probably meant it as an insult, but screw that guy.

Yeah, really makes me wish my old Battlemech buddies where still all around so we could test this, it looks glorious.

Do you think you could commit to a few sessions a week (each session takes between 20-30 min)?  There are 10 included scenarios, and each one must be tested in order.  That's the only way I'll get good feedback on the campaign mode.  Then we'll also need to test that the starting budget for ad-hoc mode works, and that free-for-all is balanced.

On a side note, did you get that package I sent you a month or so ago?  You had said you were moving, and I wanted to make sure you got it.

That looks pretty fun, I wish I were back to volunteer!

Also, I passed the CH stuff off on a group of mixed-service players in Baghram.  Hopefully they'll hit you up with thank-you's, I asked them to.

Thanks again for donating, I'll be picking up a set for myself (through our FLGS at Bragg) when I get back.

OK, Box has been shipped priority, so hopefully you get it soon.

Happy Testing!

Strangely i can get groups together for this sort of game(miniature based boardgames and the like) yet a roleplaying campaign suggestion seems to fall on deaf ears with my group, so i'd be more than willing to help test(plus who doesnt like stompy mechs kicking each other to pieces?), not sure if shipping to the uk would be viable though.
