This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

[E.O.N] Visual Designs: NOT SAFE FOR WORK

I'm an amateur artist and so often sketch ideas down for what I want things to look like. I'll hire professionals later of course, but here are some of the "new" image inspirations for E.O.N and the Empire's Demons.

The Empire's  Gorgon

I think the gorgon is sweet.  And only because of the NWS tag you applied to the thread I don't get why the Skinner needs a wiener.

I just draw what inspiration tells me and the pencil lets me--that sounds all mystic, but really isn't. I've got hundreds of half finished drawing that lack a limb or two--simply because I couldn't get what's in my head on the page, and forcing it messed it up...

Skinner had a penis--for some reason and I still am not sure why he needed it other than demons are monsters born from men--Hell can't create, only twist and darkly parody.

I was merely being silly.  As I alluded to when I said "...because of the NWS tag..." I wouldn't have thought twice about a demon's penis if it hadn't been brought to my attention.  Your art is good, in case I hadn't made that clear either.  The gorgon in particular I'm fond of.  The Skinner just looks unfinished to me.  Really, I hope that some day you aren't just, as you called yourself, "an amateur artist."  I bet with the right tools (I'd choose watercolors) and some more detail your stuff would look great in books.

I hope. I've been learning digital stuff as I can teach myself. I'd like to learn surreal oil and watercolor styles on the computer. (I admit to frustration with tools I can't go "oops back that up..")

Oh and thank you.

Well...

One could always print out your sketches, maybe after a bit of enhancement and then try various real media on them.  I'm just saying (and I sketched in a similar style to you when I did draw) that I would do watercolor first.

If you can get a good grasp of digital tools and are satisfied with results, run with that.  I'm digial-art-stupid, to be sure.  I can meld layers and apply filters.  Beyond making funny png's, clueless.

But you really ought to take a stab at taking your work from draft to product.  Based on the stuff here, I bet you could make something nice.

Demon winkie!

Blind gorgon is an interesting take.   If you do a digital version, please post it too.

I'm working on them, trying to do different digital things with em.
