This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What do you want in a High Valor supplement?

Well, if you've looked at High Valor, what would you like as a supplement?

I...don't know.

It's an awesome book, so simple (in a good way), that it's not hard at all to expand on it based off of what's there.

I picked up High Valor from Lulu a couple of weeks back - I saw a review of it somewhere (Game Geeks?) and something intrigued me enough to go and get it (although for the life of me I can't remember what now!). Haven't got through it all yet but I like it and want to try it soon (just need to find some willing victims first...).

Given the strong themes of Valor, Magic and Faith, I thought an Arabian Nights type setting would suit the rules well. Lots of high action, genie summoning and charms might replace the high and low magic, and for 'Christianity' swap in 'Islam'?

I've got plans for a few "More Eastern" themed High Valor powered settings. I just need to get on with the research. Although they take a few twists here and there of their own. I think an Arabic setting would be quite cool.

Perhaps it's a genre that's already quite crowded (having just picked up Shadow, Sword and Spell and having Jaws of the SiX Serpents on order) but what do you reckon you'd have to do to turn it into a swords and sorcery game? Faith might be less of an obvious stat (although Conan was a worshipper of Crom was he not?) but I would have thought everything else would work fine.

I think every genre is crowded right now. Although I have Horror-Space opera on the way using the same system, and Neo-Cyberpunk (just have to hammer out the rules differences, mostly minor tweaks)
