This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Wow, "sometime soon" sure came fast. I improved the design and threw down an imbalance disc too, and replaced the default font with "Gang of Three" for a more "Asian" feel. Again, this is just a suggestion! The edits are simple enough to remove and refine without great difficulty.

Spoiler

Hope it's useful for someone. It was kinda fun to make, and kind of a pain in the butt!

Cool. Can you PM me. I like what you've done. I have some suggested changes and specs if you are up for them (to bring inline with the style of the interior images and setting concept).

Oh no! They killed Mystic Sword! Those NPCS!

 :banghead:  :boohoo: :jaw-dropping:  :pundit:
Here for the games, not for it being woke or not.

The game sounds really interesting, and I'm not missing wuxia games anyway:).
Granted, I'm doing my best not to miss realistic games, either. You can say I like diametrically opposed things;).

Thanks. I should probably mention that Wandering Heroes of Ogre Gate doesn't have realism as an aim at all. I do have a background in martial arts, but I actually made a point of dropping all that at the door and trying to emulate movie martial arts instead. This is leaping on peoples swords and kicking their face then blasting them with a golden wave of Chi kind of martial arts.

You're welcome. I have a modest background in martial arts as well, but I understand emulating movie realities, or I'd have a really hard time running Feng Shui 2, Exalted and a host of other games I've been running:).
My point was that I'd probably like WHoOG, even though I also like games that take the exact opposite approach;).

Good to hear. We are hoping to have it out in the fall so it should be available in the near future.

Are you planning a kickstarter?

No. Down the road once I understand kickstarter more, it is possible we'll do something like that for a support product. But I prefer to have the games fund themselves (which is why our release schedule is on the slow side). Kickstarter is an attractive way to crank up the value of a product but it also means you have customers who paid before hand and that changes the whole dynamic. My approach is I make what I want and if people like it they buy it. If I sell them an idea and get customers to fund it before hand, then I feel like I am obligated to adjust things to meet their expectations. I don't feel comfortable working that way at this time.

Right now we are looking at a 300-400 page rulebook (I won't know for sure until we get closer to layout). Everything is written and with the editor. Now I am trying to finish up the art process. I have someone working on the black and white interiors, another person doing our setting/cosmology map, someone doing location maps for things like dungeons and inns, etc.

I post regular updates on our blog: http://thebedrockblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/iron-cub-wandering-heroes-of-ogre-gate.html

Well, that's a good reason not to have a KS:). I was just asking, since many publishers are doing it.
Guess I'll just get it when it appears;).
