This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Is the update what I think it is?

The update will be the official release date and announcement. Hopefully will be issuing it in the next two weeks. I am going over stuff with the layout guy now. I am also awaiting some information from the printer because I was looking into some new options. This will be a much bigger book than we initially anticipated.

That's what I was thinking:). Glad to hear it!

And big books don't scare me, they just take longer;).

It was originally going to be 200. Then 400. Now it is looking 500-600 pages (of course if the layout guy throws me a huge curve ball and uses all 6 point font or something, that could change things). Also my printing options will impact page count because it has to do with border placement.

It's wuxia:). I have small rulesets for that already!
Now I want the big ones;).

Please don't use the original Chivalry & Sorcery font size. I'm way too old to read tiny print. I've had to up my font size for gaming notes that I print to 10 or 11 point. I may even need to go to 12.

Me too. Unfortunately, for those of us who like to read, I think it gets harder on the eyes every year as you get older. I am officially at the point where I should be wearing reading glasses.

When I print up my game notes they are almost always 12 point on MS word (10 point for stat blocks so they stand apart from the body text). The layout guy is usually pretty good about making things readable. 12 point is a little tough to get away with in a printed book though. It does depend on the font.

Sure, I'd use it for Time New Roman, but probably not for Verdana.

I am expecting the first round of PDF proofs next week. If that goes well, we should be on our way to releasing it shortly (initially in PDF then in Print a couple months later).
