This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So, the other night I ran the game I had planned for new years (but did not get to run it then). I had just a few players, Magnus, Pirate Dave and Meghan but my adventure was very easily scaleable...so here goes:

After arriving at Denny's around 9:15, drinks were ordered and all characters were ready to go at 9:30.

The charactear were all the adopted Mutant Animals of an human genetic engineer, whom they only knew as "Grandpa".

They rolled only one creature type for the group, which ended up being Armadillos. Meghans character was named Escher, Dave was MisterMan and then we had Greg (who could tunnel). They were just over 5 ft. tall apiece armed with a Twin Machetes, a Shotgun, and a Bo Staff respectively.

Cruisin' through the hood, they stopped off at 7-11. While Greg was waiting in line, he was bitten by a pale old man who had just walked through the door. Of couse that was no old man, BUT A RUTHLESS, DEADLY ZOMBIE. Two machete stabs and a  bo staff to the brain and he drops...deader!

Outside they see a couple more Zombies (like, six) and Escher jumps in the middle and just starts hacking, cutting a few down before getting zombiepiled. The zombies almost killed him when Misterman shotgunned a few of them off, leaving just a bo staff to send the remaining zombie brains flying from their cases.

They all rest in the Jeep until they got a call from Grandpa:

"Hey Kids, I kind of had a feeling this would happen, so I've been building secret weapons in my secret lab, under the hou....hold on, there's somebody knocking on the back door....."

"Oh, it's some Zombies...I'll call you ba%$!#@#"

With that news, the zoomed home. On the way they pondered why "grandpa" never told them about the secret lab under the house, as they witnessed their once nice neiborhood succumbing to what was now a full fledged zombie apocalypse.

They arrive, "Grandpa"'s not there. Signs of a scuffle in the kitchen. There's a blood splattered note on the table, reminding them about the secret laboratory. After a quick runaround searching for grandpa, they start searching for the secret entrance...starting with the basement.

Basement game room: Not in there!

Granpa's Bedroom: Not in here either: However they read grandpa's diary and discover he forgot the passcode to get into the basement, 1 and 1/2 years ago.

*Fun GM's note: I made this puzzle up on the fly. I thought it would be fun for the 1 Armidillo brother to be able to use his tunneling powers to dig through, under the house...but players being how players are...they didn't think of this option, instead they thought of this:*

"Is there a construction site near by...we need one of those Big Ass Trench Diggin' Machines!"

Luckily for them, they remembered there was one only a few miles away!

Clash: Your super welcome, it was a super fun time!

So...Greg, Escher and MistaMan get down to the construction site mostly unmolested. Swerving the Jeep to hit a couple errant Zombies on the way. The construction site unfolds as follows:

Generally derelict, all the machines have been abandoned. Almost, their mostly surrounded by the former construction workers walking corpses. Except one. A caged mini-dozer is in operation and covered in zombies. There's screams for help coming from inside.

The Armadillo Brothers spring into action. Greg uses his bo-staff to pry the Zombies off of the cage, as both Escher and MisterMan slice and shotgun them to bits. The gentleman inside, Paul, was quite thankful they arrived and was willing to help them with the heavy machinery they just had to clear a path to the trench digger.

After sustaining jus a few more scratches and bite marks, the characters made their way to the trench digger. MisterMan named the Trench Digger "Mike Rapada", after his favorite pro-wrestler. Mister Man and Greg catch a ride on "Mike Rapada" with Paul at the levers. Escher plans to drive her Jeep home, but only after piling up the corpses and arranging them in a threatening manner, as a warning.

Escher hops into her Jeep. Imagine her suprise when a Zombie pops up from the back seat. A couple of bad combat rolls later, one lucky zombie had Armadillo for supper.

"That sounds like that death-scream is coming from our  sister." MisterMan admits.

"You said it, death-scream, there's nothing we could do for her now...." replied Greg.

"That's fucking horrible, but I guess you right"

So Greg and MisterMan decide it's best if Mike Rapada just digs up the whole house. First the front yard is completely dug up. Then they remembered the lab was  under THE HOUSE and dig up the rest of the place until they find the concrete slab under the house (with some sort of elevator passage coming from where the refrigerator used to be). Puzzle inelegantly, but quite definitively, solved.

*In the mean time, Meghan has already rolled up a new character; Edna, a Mutant Horse. Her backstory is she's grandpa's genetically engineered lab assistant, who's been living in grandpas lab since she was born. She stands at 7 feet tall, and, of course, strong as a horse.

Kick ass fun, KrakaJak! That's that TMNT is all about. I think you've nailed it!

Reminds me of the time Big Louie the badger backed into the airplane propeller, submachine gun still chattering away. By the time the fine red mist had settled, Big Louis' player was set with a backup character. Lord, we had an awesome time! Death and mayhem on every hand! :D
