Yes. Maybe. I actually found 4E one of the more playable versions, but I tended to enjoy 2E more.

Personally, I'd rather see a rewrite of 4e that just dumps the skill check system in favor of the D20 method used for combat, and drastically simplifies the item identification.

Offhand I'd wait a little until Mutant Future comes out. If that turns out to not be close enough for you, just tweak it to taste for your OSRIC GW.

I considered doing a quite project of this nature, taking 4th edition and unifying the core a little bit so the skill system uses the same d20-esque mechanic as the combat.

But as is always the case when I consider such projects, my mind seemed to prefer wandering off to consider a project a little more my own (though that one itself is admittedly heavily inspired by Fallout).

what did you think of the JEREMIAH D20? I thought the equipment / treasure tables there would be great for Gamma World. One of my DMs ran a game for us, but it didn't last long. The group ran out of motivation about the same time we ran out of gas and had to walk everywhere instead of drive. One of the funniest games I've been to as a player was when they tried to invent gasoline.
