Title: Supplements for In Harm's Way:Wild Blue
Post by: flyingmice on April 03, 2008, 01:10:01 PM
Ideas? Besides the "Mo' Planes!" Scotty has been dreaming of, I mean. :D

I can think of several:

1: Entire pre-packaged mercenary campaigns, both real world and fictional.

2: Equipment and/or vehicles, concentrating on single divisions, like a Brown Water Navy supplement or a Mechanized Infantry Supplement.

3: Prospective Contracts, with maps, fully developed back histories and thorough analyses of both sides.

4: Advanced Tools for creating contracts in more depth than in the core book.

5: More Prior Services for ChaGen Options.

Any more?

Wild Blue: Banana Republics

The organisation of your typical dictatorship, political fallout of contracts. Warlords and movements.

Introducing - The Fallout Scale. A mechanism to determine the stability of a country/region/ whatever and surrounding states. Actions affect the Fallout Scale. Could lead to whole campaigns based on what has been carried out by the PCs in the past in the area.

I demand Guardia Svizzera Pontificia as Prior Service Option!

The game direly needs funnily clad polearm-toters who speak all "K"s as "CH"s :D

Can't do them as Prior Service, Skyrock! They're already mercenaries! :D

Point taken.

Btw, I support the Fallout idea for banana republics. It would not only fit great into many merc campaigns (Iraq, Jagged-Alliance-Style tyrannys etc.), it would be an awesome mechanic for use in other games. I'd probably buy a mini-supplement just for such a subsystem alone.

Yeah - it's elegant! I'm jazzed about it myself!
