This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Help! What is the best book or website to learn text and art layout?

I have some XP in layout, but I want to increase my skills to semi-mad skillz in a short time.

What book do you recommend?

Is there a favorite site that would be great to learn from?

I no longer do most of my layout but did early on. There were some books I found helpful but unfortunately I don't recall the titles. Will try and track them down. One of my best investments was actually the indesign manual (the printed version cost 70 bucks back in 2009). Having that on hand drastically improved my ability to do the little tweaks that sometime feel elusive in the program. I also found Lynda.com a helpful resource. These days I usually check out advice on YouTube tutorials when trying to do something new. What areas are you seeking to improve?
