This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So how do you push through?

It might just be that simple.

So in the last few months I have chugged out 110 pages of Convergence Point core rules rewrites. That is 70 pages from where I was way back when and a serious edit of the previous 40 pages. That is everything from The Introduction to Tactical/ Combat.  It is about halfway through the entire book (Power Use, Meta Powers, LifeForms, Things, Appendix sheets, and The Waunders Way Setting section).  I did a writing edit, to eliminate most of the passive voice and some of the hanging words in these pages.

I am currently having issues in Section 8.0, the tool kit section where all those "odd rules" are. (The 110 will increase as I add more pages to section 8.) Most of this was either an outline, a partial write, or a one to two lines of  inspiration or crib on the last rewrite.   I had some anxiety about some of them.  Things stopped.  It has been that way for a three weeks now (though I am willing to give the Holiday a little credit in there).

Now I haven't stopped writing.  I am still doing little bits on it and lots of some settings that I have put around.  (Of the Heroic Age anyone?)  I have tinkered with some other stuff.  Some of the odd rules I am cobbling together for some of these settings will make an impact upon the core rules.

Most of these settings have clans or lands or cities which need defining as important. I am refining those rules as I go.

I need to get back into the core saddle.  I need to type out 20 to 30 diseases and poisons and finish some other rule elements.  I need to find a new way to do this.  I can go on writing the rest of the book and have 8 or so blank or semi-blank pages in the middle.

Here is where this rule will be

I might do the Power Use system just because I can.  I have it outlined.  Yet. I need those other rules done.

So here we are...       Back to the Nike Commericial.

So today was a breakthrough.  Today I actually wrote two pages worth of core rules for Convergence Point. The Dramatic Resolution Continued Section (i.e. all those other resolution rules beyond your basic die rolls) aka Section 8 plodds slowly forwards.

I have been tinkering with In the Heroic Age a little, but except for the material you have all seen in the various threads, have done very little more.  I flirted with In the Forest of Sherwood after reading a game set in Sherwood at the same time the popular version of Robin's legend, but that was mostly wiki reserch and an outline on how to make it work better.  I am averaging about 8-12 lines of something a day.

Today I wrote two pages.

I wish I knew how to keep the momentum moving or build on it.

Any suggestions?
