This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

In the post-war fallout-infested wasteland there are two levels of technology: modern technology (which is to say, post war scavenged, retro engineered and jerry rigged) and  pre-war technology (which is to say near future level technology - the sort that allows the President to be cloned so as to keep him safe). The stat that deals with the former is 'Operator' covering all aspects of interaction with such technology (driving, fixing, engineering, etc). While I lack a name for a similar stat that deals with pre-war technology. Any suggestions? Keep it to a single word where possible. Thanks.

As 90% of the future tech would be computer controlled and the remainder would be simplistic (pulling the trigger on a laser gun is roughly as complex as pulling the trigger on a revolver) perhaps "interface" is the proper verb for the skill set.

Interfacer? I don't love the sound of it but I think it's acceptable.

Thanks, but i decided just to have a single stat, Technician, covering all this. Specialisations of some kind may allow characters greater aptitude with specific technologies.
