This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm new here, so I figured I'd post my setting to get feedback and make connections.

So, I am writing a couple of setting right now. My main is an homage to Calvino's Invisible Cities and Borges' Library of Babel. An infinite city of every permutation a urban environment can take. Here's a link to the posts on my blog :  http://www.playingwithelectronstomakestories.com/search/label/Infinite%20City

The next setting is a musically inspired one. The first part is pretty much a love letter to Tom Waits: http://www.playingwithelectronstomakestories.com/2016/04/noir-weights-waylon-and-alter-complete.html

The part I am currently working on is inspired by: Nick Cave, Pink Floyd, Warren Zevon, and so many great punk bands: http://www.playingwithelectronstomakestories.com/2017/02/through-gates-of-factory-city.html

What I am looking for: Honest critiques and to make connections with other creators who I can help improve their work. Even if you don't have any feedback for me, please leave a link to your stuff and I would be happy to provide any feedback I can for your work! Thank you for taking the time to read my stuff!

Hey! I've been following your blog for a few weeks. Really love the art and your super weird and surreal approach to setting. Are you familiar with Patrick Stuart, Hydra Cooperative and Jacob Hurst?

Electron_Stories

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read my work and for replying to my post. I really appreciate any amount of time folks spend on my stuff.

I kinda sorta know Patrick Stewart in an internet way. He was the one who encouraged me to start my own blog, and has given me invaluable advice on writing. So an all around cool guy.

I own most of the PDF's put out by the Hydra Cooperative. I am a huge fan of their work, and a nerd dream of mine is to write for them one day.

When it comes to normal names, like Jacob Hurst, I have an awful memory. I may have encountered his work, or even own pdf's of it, but my ability to keep names straight is pretty lacking.

So, is there anything I can assist you with? As surprising as it may be, I must inform you that I am pretty awkward when it comes to new social situations. This is, of course, a rarity in tabletop circles, I am sure. ;) I like helping folks out, and so its my primary way of getting yo know folks or a group. Soooo... Yeah...Want some help? Not sure what you do or got, but I am happy to offer any help I can!

I don't write RPG stuff but you and Patrick are starting to give me the itch. Not sure I could match your breadth of imagination though.

Jacob Hurst does Swordfishislands. His stuff is pretty amazing and available on Etsy of all places.

You should totally get into writing! Then I can be less awkward in my social interactions with you. Do you know of anyone I can help? Also, I really have no clue where to start interacting on this forum, any 'hot' threads to jump in on?

The Design forum tends to be a bit dead. The Pen & Paper Roleplaying forum is the busiest I would post there to get feedback. In terms of interacting with other designers you're honestly probably better off with Google+ groups. Brendan Bedrock is a mod here though and he did the rather good Wandering Heroes of Ogre Gate.
