This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The genreDiversion 3E Manual was born out of the requests made by fans of the older GDi rules. Lots of new and optional rules went into it just for them, grounded in the genreDiversion philosophy of simple yet flexible and coupled with Classic Story Engine concepts.

I've been struggling to develop Story Engine 3E. The mechanics are not a problem, rather I can't see justification for a ruleset that mirrors genreDiversion 3E except for descriptors (which are essentially ability gimmicks and scene-based resolution. Rather than release a stand-alone ruleset, I'm considering just designing it as an add-on for genreDiversion 3E. This way I don't have to reproduce rules. By the same token, Active Exploits Diceless could get the same treatment. Both Story Engine and Active Exploits would work seamlessly in this manner rather than having to do conversions on the fly or before play.

So... what's your opinion?
