Indie developers Moustachie Studios latest project Extinction, a 2D story driven zombie survival RPG is now available to test in the form of a beta demo. Although still heavily in development, we felt we were at a stage that we could release a short demo to help players get a feel for our game and give us the opportunity to get your input on the game play so far. We will regularly update our blog and forums with progress and screenshots of development. Extinction will be released in the form of several free episodes, each covering a different characters unique story in the same apocalypse. Our main goal throughout development has been to make sure that each of our characters stories are both in depth and unique. From the start of the game players will be forced into making decisions that could not only end their characters life then, but hang over their head and effect the outcome of events later on. Risking your life to save the little girl running from her brain hungry family could get you killed when she turns in the middle of the night and eats half your camp. Although it will only take a couple of hours to complete a play through of a single episode, replaying that same episode but making new choices will provide a completely different story line.

After playing Telltale Games' The Walking Dead series it was clear that we not only wanted to make a game with a great story line, but one with great characters. Characters that you truly loved and connected with, meaning those really big, life and death decisions are even harder to make.
