Hi all,
I'm at the tail end of putting together my RPG, called Elthos RPG. I'm trying to find out how I can get some editorial help with the verbiage of the game World, and the website. The way I envision this working is I have draft materials that I send for review and the Glorious Editor-In-Chief sends back much appreciated final copy, which then gets either debated or revised, and then posted. Glorious Editor-In-Chief gets prime Thanks and Credit on the site, and also whatever the reasonable going rate is for such services. I've done a lot of work on the system itself, the rules, and the game system application (computer supported), and the World, but getting this into final copy would benefit tremendously with Editorial assistance. Can anyone help point me in the right direction on how to set this up, both in terms of finding someone, and how to make reasonable arrangements in a business sense? Where would I go to solicit for Glorious Editor-In-Chief? What is a reasonable price to expect to pay? Etc, etc, etc. Any thoughts/advice is much appreciated! Thanks!
- Mark
If you haven't done this already, i'd recommend the first step to be giving your work to a couple of friends to read. Even if they have no editing experience, the more pairs of eyes you get to look over your work, the better. Once you've been working on something for ages, you tend to loose sight of the wood for all the trees and even pretty simple mistakes can excape your notice.
I should have the details of a freelance editor somewhere (i spoke to them last year). If i manage to find the details, i'll PM them to you.

Ok tis cool. No problem. I found someone via another forum. All is well. As for having friends review - yup. I got good marks, but then, they're not editors. They do think the system is good. So that's a plus. They're usually a pretty sarcastic rotten no good bunch of hyper-critical bastards, so when they say, "yeah that's not too bad" it gives me hope. :)
Thanks.
