This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Looking for art for public domain retro-clone action/espionage rpg

Work has resumed on DoubleZero, a retro-clone of a classic 80s action/espionage game, and I'm looking for original artwork. In the spirit of the legacy game, I'm looking for simple black and white line art for the PDF edition. It should be evocative of characters and scenes from a certain film series, with emphasis on the more recent films, as well as other iconic actions, espionage, and crime films and characters.

DoubleZero will be released for free as a Public Domain product; there's no pay for contributed artwork, only credit and exposure. The artwork will be part of the public domain package, so understand that it may be reused by others building upon the game in commercial or non-commercial ventures.

If you are interested, PM me or email me at kinsman at unclebear dot com for more details.

Wow, more free stuff out there on the web, great Berin! Nice to see you on theRPGSite, too. I've been a keen fan of UncleBear for ages.

Any 80s action/espionage in particular?

Hi Rob!

DoubleZero is a retro-clone of Victory Games' James Bond 007. No setting on this one, though. The intention is to have something that will function for anything from highly cinematic like Bond or the Tomb Raider movies to gritty dramas like 24, The Shield, The Wire, and so on.

The only two spy games I've ever played are Palladium's Ninjas and superspies - which we played in a Man From U.N.C.L.E stylee and Conspiracy X, which we played as a conspiracy/spy game without any hint of aliens.

Pshaw, it only has to be as good as the art in the original game.
