This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Thought I may as well make my 1000th post something substantive, so...here’s the alpha playtest version of an RPG I’ve been constructing since about 2008. In the current version its a fantasy RPG, though it was initially (as the working name indicates) a supers game. Its complete enough to be playable I think, despite being only 51 pages at present. I hope for the final version to reach commercial standards and be saleable, but the alpha is free.
There are a number of rules other designers might find interesting, since the design was influenced by studying quite a number of other systems – it has an ‘effect-based’ powers system, mass combat system, and one-stat monsters for example, plus all the usual (e.g. a couple of magic systems and an optional class system).
Any feedback that would help me improve it would be greatly appreciated (and if anyone else needs feedback on their own work in exchange, I’m happy to provide it, of course).

New version of the file has been uploaded (replacing the old one at the same address).

Major changes:
*Numbers of damage dice have been revised to give a bonus from level. Damage now increases directly proportionally to level, and melee damage is balanced against melee damage. As a side effect, ability damage to scores other than 'hit points' now looks much more balanced.
*As part of this change, a 7th attribute, Essence, has been added which determines magical ability.

Minor changes include revisions to some races, changes to some weapons, revision to initial skill points. Kick damage special rules have been dropped (as they made 6" tall pixies unstoppable engines of destruction). A couple of martial arts combat options and warrior melee options have been added. A couple of illustrations have been added. One module is being written by a friend and we are planning on doing some online playtesting on rpol shortly. NPC rules added.

Still need to work on a setting, add equipment rules - pondering a silver-based economy rather than GP based. Power types (magic, psi, god power) need to be distinguished/defined, and I may have to work on a Priest class just to be traditional.
