=== Talislanta Skype Game Session #1 (05/25/2010) ===

The GM of the game is Dirk Cjelli, and the characters/players are:

  • T'Sarma- Dracartan Scout (Drohem)
  • Speaker to Animal- Jaka Hunter (Werekoala)
  • Tok- Yassan Technomancer (Thunderstep)
  • Sulath- Sauran Shaman (Silverlion)
  • Malahan- Cymrilian Air Captain (NPC)
The game opens with all of the characters working together on a caravan traveling from Dracarta to the City State of Hadj.  T'Sarma and Tok are old friends who met when they served together in the Dracartan military.  Both T'Sarma and Speaker with Animal were out and ahead of the caravan scouting when they spotted some Avirs circling in the distance.  They rode in the direction of the circling avians when they spotted a lone figure on the walking on the dunes.  They rode closer to investigate and they could see that it was Cymrilian man with a cloth wrapped around his head, wearing a longsword at his side, and was wounded with blood on his shirt.  After coming to the conclusion that this wasn't some kind of trap, the two scouts rode up to the lone figure.

The Cymrilian man was grateful to see T'Sarma and Speak with Animal.  After giving the man some water, he said that his name was Malahan.  He was a windship Captain and his craft crashed landed about four days ago.  The scouts return to the caravan with the wounded windship Captain.  Once back at the caravan, the Sulath applied first aid to Malahan's wounds.  Once T'Sarma told Tok that there was a crashed windship, he became very excited.  The group questioned Malahan further and he revealed that when he and his First Officer, a Blue Aeriad, left the wreckage there were five other survivors.  He also said that his First Officer fell to the Avirs that the scouts saw circling in the distance.

T'Sarma asked the caravan master if he could take a few men, some Aht-Ra, and water with him to rescue the survivors, if any are still alive by the time they reach the wreckage.  The caravan master agreed as long as some kind of profit could be made from the situation.  Speak with Animal, Tok, Sulath, and T'Sarma leave with Malahan for the wreckage site.  Malahan is a skilled navigator, T'Sarma an experienced desert scout, and Speak with Animal an experienced tracker.  Speak with Animal started following out Malahan's tracks.  Close to nightfall, the group finds an area covered with blood.  They find Malahan's First Officer's Dart-Thrower, but no corpse.  The group moves away from the bloody scene and makes camp for the night.

Sulath took the first watch since he would be too sluggish at any other time.  On his shift, he hears and sees something moving near their mounts.  He wakes up T'Sarma just as a large creature jumps onto the back of one of the Aht-Ras.  T'Sarma recognizes the creature as a large male Omnivrax.  Both Sulath and T'Sarma yell in alarm as they grab their weapons and move to protect the mounts.  The quick and adroit Speak with Animal was the first to attack the Omnivrax, but the creature dodged the incoming sword slash.  It was not so lucky against Sulath's savage hacking attack with his massive War Axe.  T'Sarma moved into and put his spear through the creature's eye and into it's small brain.  The creature died instantly on T'Sarma's spear.  The attacked Aht-Ra was killed in the attack.  T'Sarma dragged the dead bodies out and far away from the group's campsite.  The rest of the evening passed uneventfully.

As the group waited for Sulath to properly warm up in the morning, Tok went to work on creating a makeshift sled to carry Sulath between two Aht-Ras since he was too heavy to ride the creatures.  As a skilled Technomancer, it was fairly easy for Tok to create it in the field with the few and precious supplies that they carried with them.  The second day of travel passes uneventfully and the group finds another suitable campsite for the night.  During the second watch, Speak with Animal notices a winged and seven-foot tall creature walking casually towards their campsite.  He sneaks up to the creature and confronts it.  The creature says he's a fellow traveler in the desert and came to their camp to talk.  Speak with Animal yells a warning shout to the group, who all wake up to the alarm.

After the group decides that this strange humanoid creature isn't a threat, they invite him into their campsite.  The creature says his name is T'Fel and he produces several dead Avirs as a gift and offering.  As they start talking, T'Sarma asks T'Fel if he saw a windship wreckage back in the direction that he came walking into the camp.  T'Fel said yes that he found the wreckage but that it was being held by half a dozen Rajans who shot at him.  He agrees to take us back to the wreckage in the morning.

=== Talislanta Skype Game Session #2 (06/01/2010) ===

The GM of the game is Dirk Cjelli, and the characters/players are:

  • T'Sarma- Dracartan Scout (Drohem)
  • Speaker to Animal- Jaka Hunter (Werekoloa)
  • Tok- Yassan Technomancer (Thunderstep)
  • Sulath- Sauran Shaman (Silverlion)
  • Malahan- Cymrilian Air Captain (NPC)
  • T'Fel- Horned Devil-Man (NPC)
The game opens the next morning after meeting T'Fel. It takes the group several hours to journey to the rocky area near the crashed windskiff. We hide our mounts behind a ridge near the rocky outcroppings, and sneak up to the rocky outcroppings. T'Fel has agreed to act as a distraction for our assault on the crashed windskiff. Speaker to Animal sneaks up to the top of the rocky area and can see down onto the deck of the ship. He sees a person in the windskiff's crow's nest, several persons on deck, and two persons on the ground guarding eight mounts on the shady side of the crashed windskiff. The shady side of the wreck is between the ship and the rocky outcropping, and he spots six Greymanes and two Aht-Ras being guarded by two people. There is a rope ladder slung over the side of the ship leading down to the area where the mounts are strung together in the shade.

The plan was that T'Fel was going to approach the crash site from the opposite direction of the rocky area to draw the Rajans' attention from the rocky area. It was about one hundred feet from the rocky area to the deck of the ship. Speaker to Animal would take up position on top of the rocks and fire his bow onto the ship. Sulath and Tok would move around the rocky area and assault the Rajans' mounts and two guards there. Finally, T'Sarma and Malahan would cross the sand between the rocks and ship and climb onto its deck. T'Sarma let Malahan borrow his hide armor, and T'Sarma put on his red iron studded leather armor. In preparation, Sulath poisoned three arrows and a crossbow bolt with a vial of poison that he had. Speaker to Animal took two arrows, T'Sarma one, and Malahan the crossbow bolt. Sulath also cast a spell on himself and Tok to make them stealthier.

T'Fel does as he said he would and flew near the crashed windskiff, momentarily drawing the attention of those on deck and in the crow's nest. With each of the group in position, they each move to execute their respective parts of the plan. While sneaking up to the mount guards, Tok and Sulath are noticed and the two guards move to climb up the ladder. T'Sarma, Malahan, and Speaker to Animal fire their missile weapons at the Rajans and Virds on the deck and crow's nest. T'Sarma's and Malahan's shots go wide, and they abandon missile fire to charge across the sand to the windskiff while Speaker to Animal remains on the top of the rocky area and continues to fire his bow at the Rajans and Virds on the deck.

Sulath manages to grab the rope ladder as a Vird is trying to pull it up onto the ship, and the Vird lets go of the rope ladder. Tok starts climbing up the ladder, and both he and Sulath take missile fire from the Vird on deck. In the meantime, Speaker to Animal continues to fire his bow at those on deck and in the crow's nest. T'Sarma and Malahan make it to the windskiff and T'Sarma climbs up after Tok. At the top of the ladder and railing of the deck, Tok finds himself facing two Vird and a Rajan. T'Sarma climbs hastily up after him and forces Tok to get over onto the deck. Tok forces the Vird back with his actuator giving room for T'Sarma to get onto the deck. At the top of the railing, T'Sarma sees Tok facing three opponents, but focuses his rage on the Rajan in plate armor on deck. He jumps onto the deck and stabs the Rajan in the face, and he clutches his bleeding face. Tok is holding his own, but has taken some injuries. At the bottom of the rope ladder, Sulath was shot several times by Vird bowmen on the deck but climbs onto the deck. He savagely hack one of the Vird fighting Tok with his immense battle axe.

Speaker to Animal has dropped several men from the deck with his bow, and finally takes out the Rajan in the crow's nest. At the ladder, Malahan fires a crossbow bolt before climbing up and hits a Vird crossbowman in the throat and kills him. As they are fighting on the deck, both Tok and T'Sarma notice T'Fel land on deck before the forecastle door and enter it. As the group finishes the opponents on the deck, both Tok and T'Sarma notice T'Fel exit the forecastle onto the deck. T'Sarma notices him
put something into his satchel, and that he is strangely shimmering. Before they could reach T'Fel, he flies off the deck of the windskiff. T'Fel turns and waves at Tok and T'Sarma on the deck as he flies away into the sky on his leathery wings.

Once Malahan climbs on the deck, the fight is pretty much over. Tok dropped the last Vird by burning his face off with his actuator, and T'Sarma kills the Rajan by stabbing him in the neck with his spear and finishing him. Sulath starts up the rope as well. Malahan rushes to the stern castle, T'Sarma goes for the forecastle, and Tok climbs down the rope ladder down into the hold of the windskiff. Speaker to Animal makes his way down from the top of the rocks to the windskiff.

On the deck, Sulath dispatches the remaining alive opponents with his huge axe and starts searching their bodies. T'Sarma enters the forecastle to find it empty. Malahan also finds the stern castle empty. Just as Speaker to Animal makes it to the ship, Tok yells from the hold that he's found survivors. Malahan and T'Sarma join Tok in the hold and free the four captives. On the deck, Sulath smashes the dead Rajan's holy symbol as an offering to his Dragon goddess. All four survivors were badly injured, and only the female Sindaran was conscious. She was Malahan's passenger on this flight, and other three unconscious people are part of Malahan's crew. There is a Blue Aeriad, Cymrilian, and Verdir. We call Sulath to the hold, and he goes about healing the injured survivors. His skill and knowledge in the healing arts revives all the unconscious crewmen.

The crewmen tells us that about a day after Malahan and his First Officer left to find help, the Rajans attacked the ship at night. One crewman was killed in the raid, and the Cymrilian Magician was tortured to death by the Rajans in an attempt to get him to fly the ship. Unfortunately, the ship was damaged and couldn't fly in any event, but that didn't stop the Rajans from killing him in trying to force him to fly the windskiff for them. They said that besides the half a dozen Rajan the group killed in taking the windskiff back, there were about a half a dozen more Rajans that participated in the original night raid on the ship.

After the Sindaran passenger is revived somewhat, T'Sarma tells her about T'Fel that he suspects that T'Fel stole something from forecastle room. The Sindaran went to look and came back upset. She asked for the whole story in detail, and the group told her everything as they knew it. Tok immediately started repairing the windskiff with the help of Malahan and his remaining crewmen. The rest of the group helped here and there with manual labor, but mostly Sulath and T'Sarma looked after the large group of mounts. Speaker to Animal spent most of his time up in the crow's nest scanning the desert sands for any sign of the Rajans' return to the windskiff.

The rest of the day passes uneventfully, and we take turns on watch that evening on the deck of the downed windskiff. The night was uneventful as well, and the group greeted a new day. Tok worked almost non-stop on fixing the windskiff throughout the night. The group from the caravan were concerned that their employer might come under attack by Rajans. Sometime before noon on the next day, Speaker to Animal spots something on the horizon and alerts the group. T'Sarma climbs up and takes a look, but it's too far in the distance to discern anything useful. They keep a watch on it throughout the day. Meanwhile, Sulath takes the captured crossbows and jury-rigs some swivel mounts for them on the railing on the side facing the dust cloud on the horizon. Later in the day, T'Sarma realizes that the dust cloud is being created by several dozen riders and several wagons, and he estimates that they will arrive by the end of the day. Tok is working feverishly to get the windskiff airworthy again.

The end of the day arrives, and four Rajan on Equs ride up to the windskiff. At the same time, Tok is ready to start the windskiff working again. The lead Rajan demands that they surrender the windskiff just as it lifts off the ground. In response to the Rajan's demand, T'Sarma fires a crossbow bolt from the railing and hits the Rajan that was speaking. It clutches its chest as the windskiff rises up higher and higher. Malahan guides the windskiff towards the City State of Hadj. Malahan was transporting his Sindaran passenger and her cargo there before his ship crash landed, and the caravan of the other group was heading there as well.

=== Talislanta Skype Game Session #3 (06/15/2010) ===

The GM of the game is Dirk Cjelli, and the characters/players are:

T'Sarma- Dracartan Scout (Drohem)
Speaker to Animal- Jaka Hunter (Werekoloa)
Tok- Yassan Technomancer (Thunderstep)
Sulath- Sauran Shaman (Silverlion)
Malahan- Cymrilian Air Captain (NPC)

The game opens with Malahan's windskiff, the Calandra, barely floating along above the dunes and sea of sand. Captain Malahan steps in some dung, and the Cyrmilian sailor is upset with the situation of so many animals on his ship. He snaps at Sulath about cleaning up after the animals since Sulath appointed himself their caretaker when they were brought aboard. On the horizon, the walls of the city-state of Hadj have been sighted by Speaker to Animal from the Crow's Nest. Luckily, the sighting of the wall of Hadj helped to lighten everyone's mood, especially Captain Malahan's mood. His business was based out of Hadj and he had a berth there for the Calandra.

As we approach the outer walls of Hadj, we can see the maze of tents, wagons, and animals outside the city walls of the Foreign Quarter. As we sail over the walls, we spot Caravan Master K'Tora and his caravan arriving outside the city walls. As we approach the docking area in the Foreign Quarter, we are stopped by Customs Officials at the docks. Captain Malahan speaks with the official and we are granted entrance to the Foreign Quarter. The Cymrilian sailor guides the Calandra into its berth, and we begin unloading our animals from the ship.

Before we leave the windskiff, Tok tries to present Captain Malahan with a bill for his repairs services. Captain Malahan tells us that he has no money and cannot pay us for the repairs to his windskiff. He suggests that we speak with his employer, a Hadjin named His Exemplary Eloquence Halast Fatour, about compensation for our actions and Tok's repair of the windskiff. Captain Malahan tells us that he has to leave and go report to his benefactor about the events of the crash, rescue, and theft of Professor Dari Narune's items by the T'Fel.

The group decides to go and find Caravan Master T'Kora to return his borrowed animals, and speak with him. They make their way through the maze of streets of Hadj to the outer wall and gate. After a while, they find their caravan and T'Kora. The group was only contracted to get the caravan to Hadj, and so they return the animals and part ways on good terms with the Dracartan Caravan Master. He said that he may have some more work, but not for another week or longer. The group finds themselves in the city-state of Hadj free of employment.

The group decides to take their captured mounts and Rajan equipment to the market and sell it for gold lumens. Also, Tok needed to buy supplies to make a chariot for Sulath. Of the six captured Greymanes and two Aht-Ras, we decide to sell two Greymanes and the Aht-Ras. Speaker to Animal and Tok each take a Greymane mounts since they didn't own a mount, and Sulath takes two Greymanes in order to pull the chariot that Tok is planning to make for him. Tok is usually very good at negotiating and was trusted with selling the excess mounts. T'Sarma was tasked with selling all the excess equipment taken from the dead Rajans.

When the two groups met up with each other again in the market, Tok returned with only 300 GL for all the mounts (rolled a '1' on his Haggle skill check). The group was stunned since he should have return with double that amount or more. Apparently, he was taken a slick talking merchant. Luckily, T'Sarma faired better in his excursion into the Foreign Quarter market and returned with nearly 700 GL for all the equipment he sold. After splitting the coin gained for everything, they received a little over 250 GL each.

As the group is walking through the Foreign Quarter, they see a large iron cage holding a Sauran in a wagon. There are two Jhangara mercenaries standing guard nearby. Sulath becomes upset at seeing another Sauran in a cage and immediately goes over to the cage. He speaks with the other Sauran in their native language. The Jhangara guards become much more interested in us. Sulath is visibly very upset about the situation, and T'Sarma asks Sulath if he knows the caged Sauran. Sulath tells his companions that the captured Sauran is one of his clan and is a relative of sorts. It was a tense moment and situation as it was clear that Sulath wanted to free his clansman right there and then in the crowded streets of Hadj.

However, before any blood was spilled in the streets, both Speaker to Animal and T'Sarma notice a group walking directly toward them. Another Jhangara mercenary and a Farad are escorting a chained and bound dark-skinned person with wild and dark hair toward the wagon. Speaker to Animal is the only one who recognizes the dark-skinned person as a Bane. The Farad asks us what we are doing near his wagon and slave. T'Sarma speaks with the Farad. The group discovers that Farad is named Sulemar of the House of Hazule, and that that he plans to use the Sauran in the Arena as a gladiator. T'Sarma offers Sulemar 300 GL to buy the Sauran from him, but the wily Farad says that he would only sell the Sauran for 1,500 GL. The group didn't have that much coin between them, and so T'Sarma negotiates with Sulemar and gets him to fix that price for a week. If the group can come up with 1,500 GL within the week, then Sulemar will sell them the Sauran for that price.

The two groups part ways, and Sulath is still upset about the situation and wants to free his clansman. Speaker with Animal decides to tail Sulemar and see where the Sauran slave is taken by the Farad merchant. In the meantime, the rest of the group decides to meet with Captain Malahan's business associate to try and extract some coin for their services and Tok repairing the Calandra. We return to Captain Malahan's berth and speak with him. He agrees to take us to his Hadjin benefactor and give us an introduction. We arrive at the offices of His Exemplary Eloquence Halast Fatour, and are made to wait a long time before we are finally granted an audience. While waiting for our meeting, we discover that Captain Malahan has never actually met his Hadjin business associate, and that he has only ever spoken to his proxy, the Hadjan named Heska Tacour.

Finally, we are brought into an office for our audience. Unsurprisingly, we are greeted by Heska Tacour. Captain Malahan and the Hadjan exchange some pleasantries, and then the Malahan introduces the group to Heska Tacour. T'Sarma takes the lead in speaking with the Hadjan and asks if he has any work for the group that can be done within the week. Heska Tacour tells them that he doesn't have anything for them in that time frame, but that shortly he may needs their services in a job involving the recovery of Professor Dari Narune's items. After an intense and lengthy negotiation, a deal that equatable to all was struck. Heska Tacour would play us a sum of 1,500 GL for our services in assisting Captain Malahan and the Calandra with the promise that we would be contracted for the job concerning Professor Dari Narune at a discounted rate. It was agreed that we would work on the Sindaran job for only 60% of our normal rate. After the deal was completed, the group waited while the necessary contracts were drawn up and signed. The group received their purse of 1,500 GL.

Returning to the Calandra, the group was greeted by Speaker to Animal. He has spent some time following the Farad merchant to a nice villa and walled compound with in the Foreign Quarter of Hadj. He watched the villa compound and took note of the buildings and number of people there. The group was going to free Sulath's clansman one way or another, but T'Sarma wanted to get it done the legal way since they would be making themselves outlaws by attacking Sulemar's compound. After seeing so many gold lumens at once, the group grudgingly agreed to meet with the Farad slaver and buy the Sauran's freedom.
