This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I've been reading the WRONG STUFF!

So, my books from Machiavelli, William Gibson, Asimov, Robert E. Howard, Walter Jon Williams and John Shirley have to burn as well as my books about business administration, history and programming? Not to speak about my French-Belgian comics.

Unfortunately, gasoline is too expensive here, so we European designers have to stick to inferior libraries. That would explain why the US dominate the RPG market. (Although there is actually a Pratchett novel, so hope might not be completely lost.)

When I write "TDE", I mean "The Dark Eye". Wanna know more? Way more?

Balbinus

Um, just to be clear, the OP is actually the exact opposite of his point.

I think Clash knows that, I'm not sure everyone reading realised that.

LAZARUS! COME FORTH!

Yes, I did indeed know that, Balbinus. This was intended to be humerus, but I seem to have missed everyone's funny bone. :O

that thread's a prime example of why i no longer read the site.  it's like cock-waving where the cock is wearing a fucking cap and gown with a monocle stuck in the center.  ughh.

I will be burning my PhD thesis on Artfucial Intelligence, then. It's obviously no use for the space opera I wrote (actually, it isn't).

The problem I see with RPG.net is that there are more people who want to talk about themselves than engage with others. Listing your bookshelf is the kind of sick ego stroking that makes me feel more at home here.

Caesar Slaad

Heh. I've savored of Mr. Analytical long ago.

I sampled his "oh, I'm so much more cultured than the rest of the hobby" BS in threadcrap form right here on theRPGsite long ago.
