Suggestions for the Orlbar Tower in SKT

(I don't know if this discussion is appropriate for this particular forum.  If anyone has any suggestions on transplanting this to a better forum, let me know.)

In one of my games in Storm King's Thunder, the party is vying for the Tower in Orlbar and seeking to turn it into their Headquarters. I'd like to see if anyone has any suggestions on how to work that into the campaign. I have some downloads from the DM's Guild and have my own Homesteading Mechanic to build a city, but what say you.

I'd also be interested in any ideas on how to continue their adventuring after SKT, using their Tower Headquarters as a focus? I could have them acquire people from neighboring villages which will provide some intrigue. There is also some activities from Stone Giants as well as the Cult of the Dragon in the vicinity. (STK does allow for a possibility of encountering the Cloud Castle from HotDQ, and there's always Rise of Tiamat for a high-level campaign. But if there's another high-level option for me to brainstorm over, I'm happy to hear it.
