This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I like the idea of semi feral zombie packs--animal like with cunning, but that's because they make a credible threat in our zombie happy worlds. Shamblers work in vast vast numbers, with a slow malign inevitability. It's not that they alone are a threat, but there are always more.

For shamblers:

A crowded alleyway with a person scrambling up a wall away from the zombies, with out of sight to him rooftops covered with zombies.

A figure cowering under a car at a somewhat distant visual point with hundreds of shamblers around.

Thanks guys! I have a comprehensive list and will let you know what comes of it shortly. Back to it! ("It" being the drawing board, that is.)

Hey all! It's been a few weeks since I have updated here, but I have been very busy. Here are a few pieces finished recently.

There is much more where that came from, but it's a good taste of what I have been doing for the last couple months. I'm open now for commissions for the New Year! Please send emails for more information or to place an order. Thanks!

I like the zombie one especially.
You can shake your fists at the sky. You can do a rain dance. You can ignore the clouds completely. But none of them move the clouds.

Hey all,
I have a few images that are available if anyone is interested. Also, the website has been updated somewhat recently. I'll try to make more regular updates this year to keep you all posted on what is new.

These are all fairly low res images, not suitable for print, but it works for the web. Please email me with any requests or questions. Thanks!

Even though I come here at least once a day to check up on all your opinions, I have remained in Lurker mode for quite a while now. I come out of the shadows only because I know if I want opinions this is the place to ask.

In a nutshell, my artwork is not what I expect it to be. I have done some thinking and soul-searching and realized I need to buckle down and work harder to hone my craft. To do this I am asking for constructive criticism from those of you who feel you are qualified to offer it. I spent a good portion of the day updating my website with recent images and shaking up the portfolio a bit. I am more concerned with the digital paint pieces since they seem to fall the shortest in the eyes of most ADs.
So far I have been instructed to work on anatomy, some perspective, and some composition. There doesn't seem to be one standout major issue, but rather some hit-and-miss oversights and inconsistencies. I plan to work from life more often and really hit the anatomy studies hard in the near future, but what else can I work on?
I want to create art that every game publisher would want on their cover (well, ok, not 'every', but many). I want to create something that captures attention and imagination all at once.
So have a look if you like at //www.harshweb.com and drop me a note here. Thanks!

Hey, I'd be willing to help.
I'm pretty good at constructive criticism being an amateur artist myself, and suffering the horrid knowledge of how I fail at getting what I want together.

Much of your work is awesome, very clean and crisp. I think you might need to work on perspective. (Yours are not bad, just very plain much of the time. I wish I could even manage THAT, but in general stretching back and at different viewpoints would improve the feel of your work a great deal.)

Anyway, I'm here if you'll point me at what you want critiqued, and I will check out your webspace as I have time.

I applaud you for this focus. (Just remember the mantra: "I know my work is better than Rob Leifeld's, Knowing this, I will endeavor on and hone my craft to what I want it to be and it will be wondrous!")

Awesome! Thanks Silverlion. I agree with you that my work can look a bit flat sometimes. I think that is from a long focus of learning from comics and not from more traditional art or life. I'm basically looking for critiques on anything in the portfolio at this point. Take your pick. I think I have a lot of little things to clean up that are holding me back.
Thanks for the mantra as well. lol.
I met Leifeld once. He was a prick. Just looking for everyone to heap glory onto him and had no time for most fans or aspiring artists outside of that. I've never really felt sorry for him outside of that. He has brought most of his infamy upon himself.

Hey all,
It's been a busy couple years for me, thankfully, but I have been able to lurk about here, read a lot of your conversations, ideas, and such, and even post infrequently. I consider this place a solid source of information for RPGs in general. So with all that said, I am posting up some newer artwork and announcing that I'm once again looking for projects to work on. I'm working out some css/flash bugs in a new website, but the old one still stands even though it's already 2 years out of date. Ugh. Sorry about that.

Ok, there's a taste of what I've been up to in recent months. Of course, there are more images in my deviant art gallery. Have a look and hit me up with emails if you have ideas you want illustrated. Thanks!

New website is live! Please stop by and have a look around. Comments/critiques are always welcome on both artwork and website. //www.harshweb.com
Thanks!

I finished this study earlier tonight. Spent about 21 hours on it trying to really chew on the decisions I made and why the light and color did what they did in the reference pic, which was obviously the promotional poster for the movie.

Comments, Critiques, and Commissions are always welcome. Thanks!

Necroing this one again instead of starting a whole new thread. Apologies if this breaks some interweb etiquette.

Just a note to say that though I am currently swamped with Harsh Realities artwork and a web comic, I'm also looking for freelance work to help pay the bills. Most likely my schedule will free up a bit come late Nov./early Dec. so hit me up. The website is a bit dusty, so have a link to a facebook page for now!
