So, I came up with the idea for an rpg:
You have a deck of cards, and you draw a hand from the deck. Each card has a number and an ability.
The abilities are things like "jolt of lightning" "Multishot" and etc, while the numbers are used to do ability checks and damage. So lets say you play fireball:
First, play the fireball card. Then the gm plays a card and uses the number to see if the enemies save, if they don't, you play a card and use its number to decide how much damage is dealt.
Would anyone enjoy this?
I wouldn't enjoy it as an rpg, but as an element of a board game, it would be fine.
The idea reminds me of TORG: https://rpggeek.com/thread/907931/old-chestnut-fresh-look-torgs-beginning
It might be useful to examine greater depth using the cards if that's the route you want to go in. So far, it sounds a bit thin.
Good luck with it though! :)
