This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Good scenario design questions

Narf the Mouse

For the first advanture for my game, I'm going with 'Wizard's apprentice stole evil artifact and is raising undead' and 'Fairie knight thinks he isn't getting the respect he deserves and is harrassing travelers'.

The apprentice is raising undead in town; the fairie knight lives close to the town. Thing is, if I don't tie them together, they are just seperate adventures. However, there is a plot hook in the system - Making a pact with a fairie lord is one way of getting loyal summons.

I'm not sure beyond that. How do I tie this together and keep up the tension?

Hmm...Could have fairies stealing kids while everyone is distracted with the undead...Hostages make for tension.

The main problem with government is the difficulty of pressing charges against its directors.

Given a choice of two out of three M&Ms, the human brain subconsciously tries to justify the two M&Ms chosen as being superior to the M&M not chosen.
