This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Silverlion;383930That's odd for fantasy--where gods (via clerics, priests, etc.) Play a part. Tolkien's world is filled with such concepts of a mythic nature--in fact that's kind of a part of the idea of "myth" in entirety is to have stories of the beginning and the gods.

I don't much like it in Tolkien, either.  I'm not a huge LotR fan.  I lean more toward pulp.

Well then why do you care about Tolkien-esque races? You should totally like my setting Airumel. PC Races: Men. Not PC Races:

Toad-Demons:
Not to be confused with the sorcerously created Toadmen. Giant Toads
with probable Demonic heritage but definitely pre-Cambrian (equivalent) heritage.

  Squid-demons:
Who are just ancient squid like race trying to bring the world to ruin so they may rule the entirety of Airumel (flooded) again.

Insect People:
(Ha, you thought it would be demons again.)
Just bug-people. Who's queen is lethal and intelligent, her drones are not. Only the Keepers are harmless sages of ancient knowledge--since they live until killed. Tending their queens. Who've all been destroyed, allegedly.

    Vulture People:
Cursed Descendants of a former great empire.

Mostly the game is about human's though. Just humans. Everything else is fringes of ages before--for Airumel is old, and yet young...
