Attached there should be a prototype PC sheet for my Horror-Space Opera game E.O.N.

I decided to take a break from writing and fiddle around with this, I'd appreciate feedback. It is a VERY rough draft but the more feedback I get, the more I know to watch for and fix as the game progresses in development.


The triangular "stat" block shows the Fear Spiral the game uses--a downward one that cycles through physical, mental, and spiritual impact of being exposed to terrible things.

Honestly, I hate the fonts, I'm not sure what would be a good replacement though. I dont care for the design of the triangle thing either. Maybe something more symetrical, or of different design.

The font looks like a dot matrix 1980s printer or early screenfonts, in a ow way. (i.e. not in a good retro manner)

The triangle looks like a bad blob monster, so yes some tidying up would help. Is there a trend in the fear aspect, i.e. does it tend to impact one aspect first or last? Emphasize that one in the up corner. And perhaps face the triangle down instead of up (esp. if there's a final aspect).

Is it E.O.N or E.O.N.? Looks like E.O.N :confused:

Negra and Blanca look like slim calculator fonts, the Xx fonts may be better for titles and headings but not text body (too much use of them may get in the way and be less readable)

Yeah that's a titling or decorative font, but you can usually get away with that on a character sheet where you're not setting large blocks of text. Still I'd use one of the X variants for the title and maybe the text in the spiral, and one of the less noisy ones for the other text.

Damn now you're up to forty bucks.

Ah well, I'll work on it. The triangle is supposed to look a bit like smeared blood, but it needs work.

Cheapo is a pretty stylish dot matrix with a distressed feel, which might feed into your horror premise. Cheap too.

Virus is nifty too and might imply that the low-resolution transmission uses a technology other than simple digital transmission. Maybe something terrifying.

Bizu sells a similar theme -- kinda digital but distressed and not obviously just dots. It's a little too far from legible for my taste, but would work for titling.

I like it a lot better. Not sure I'm sold on the bloody triangle thing. I think it might look better without the bloody effect. But I really like the handprint.

That is far, far better, Tim! As for the triangle, maybe smear a bloody spiral instead? Triangles are too stable to pull off the effect you want.

Hrms. Possibly a good idea. Only problem is getting the "arrows" which sort of explain/keep track of the Fear Spiral effect.
