Just messing around for a few minutes, resulting in this scribble

Hey, you mentioned that you used to do a lot of artwork. Do you by chance and a portfolio online anywhere?

No I'm
teaching myself artwork, I've done some layout stuff but that's it really.
An underwater game? What's it about?

Don't worry Clash its no challenge to Pigboats! :p Its a mid-future setting after the ice caps have melted, I have maps here (http://www.therpgsite.com/showpost.php?p=596472&postcount=8) and a thread riffing on one facet of it here (http://www.therpgsite.com/showthread.php?t=23103), plus various bits and bobs scattered about all over the place. It's about 50-50 whether it will ever see publication between being a labour of love and general life stuff, but I load up the odd snippet now and again. I have reams of notes to organise some day.
Right, I have resumed work on this in earnest; after calculating my pagecount there are 10 full colour full page plates, 150 smaller monochrome or colour images, 50 large of the same, 150 monster illustrations, 150 equipment illos, and numerous maps to follow.

Holy cow man. That's a LOT of artwork. What is your page count?
I like the design of the cover, but at a glance it said "futuristic space RPG" to me. Not sure if anyone else got that. Once clash mention underwater I clearly saw the bubbles and periscope design.
Well that cover is really only one of a few possibilites, more of a sketch really. It is a lot of art but as I'm doing it myself the sky's the limit! I want to provide the best possible experience I can for people who are interested in the idea, at as low a cost as can be managed. I'm looking at around 350 to 400 pages at the moment, so probably 600 in the end.
Edit: the vast, vast majority of that will be setting details, information about the world of the future, which can be taken or left, as a cyberpunk sandbox.

Looks
very interesting! :)

Thanks Ent! I'm just wrapping up a few contracts now so I should be able to put a dent in the artwork before the Christmas.
Nice presentation. Mysterious and murky.
Yeah - I really like it!

Thanks! I really have to start kicking my own ass on this project, I've just realised I've been carrying on about it for two years and it's still not done. I'd envision it as being part of a future humanity series
1 - near future post global warming cyberpunk sandbox.
2 - Mid future a couple of hundreds year later, an age of sail in space as mankind explores and exploits the solar system.
3 - Far future about a thousand years after that, Revelation Space style ships that ply the interstellar spaceways at .99999 C.
4 - A far future setting with faster than light ships set on a galactic scale. Not galactic like WH40k or Star Wars, but galactic like 300 billion stars in the galaxy.
Each of these games will be connected to the previous one through history, so the resources and details listed can be used interchangeably between them. If you want to rock a cyberpunk battery powered motorcycle across alien worlds the rules will enable that.
Also I've a very well developed fantasy world (magic!) and the solid bones of a modern urban fantasy/horror as well as a steampunk game. I might do an apocalypse miniseries but I'm not too bothered about that.
Nose to the grindstone it is then.
I love the shadowy fingers in the light flare with pointy talons.

Thanks Teagan! I'm actually pretty excited about gittin' 'er done although six months is probably optimistic, despite having 90% of the writing completed. The art is the hard part, the writing is easy.
Quote from: The Traveller;712776Ahaha guilt! I'm on it, I really just need the artwork done which is all on me.
And here I will bump your thread where you gave us a timeline.
Feel the guilt. FEEL IT.
I'll make a serious dent on the artwork over the Christmas, 2014 will be the year of Deep Blue (he says optimistically).
Just chiming in to say that cover is beautiful--moody and mysterious! Very excited to learn more about the game.
