This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Concepts I'd love to do!

Quote from: HinterWeltJust bringing it up as a point to keep in mind. It sounds like Minerva, Venus or Earth would need to be the real agressor worlds out of pure physilogical necessity. Mars seems...unlikely but possible. hmmm, idea.
HG Wells already thought of that. That is why the Martians have their TRIPODS!

Hehe! Luckily - or unluckily - the Martians would be as immune to Earth microbes as we would be to theirs - and our own. :D

Also luckily - or unlickily - Outer Moon exo-suits wouldn't fit Earth or even Mars humans. :D

Here's a nice view of comparative sizes of moons:

And here are the comparative sizes of the planets - from L to R Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars:

Note that Ganymede and Titan are almost as large as Mars, and Callisto is not far behind, and is comparable to Mercury in size.

Hasn't anypne ever told you size does not matter Clash?

Gravity:
Earth 1
Mars .38
Venus .91
Mercury .38

Moons
Luna .16
Io .18
Europa .13
Ganymede .14
Callisto .12
Titan .14
Triton .08

Light worlders are going to have a bitch of a time on Anything more than Mars or Mercury and they will have it rough there. Think about it. Say you are 220 and you go to a world where you weigh 660!

Isn't that what the Exo-Suits are for? What was your point? :O

What I mean is yes, absolutely, and without a doubt. Was I saying something else?

It was just an interesting comparison pic is all. It didn't really have a point beyond that. I just thought it was cool and wanted to share. :D

Oh, yeah, it is cool. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Just so you know, those gravities are why I was thinking of the exo-suits. When you said you wanted many races from all those planets and moons the first thing I thought of was the limitations on PCs. That said, I reiterate, do we want that level of detail? Not a problem to do so but we just need to be aware what a Titian will be like on Earth...Dead that is.

Not if the inside of their exosuit was a supportive gel or liquid, which is what I was imagining. It would be difficult, but not impossible. OTOH, it makes sense. The folks from the outer planets aren't interested in the inner planets for a reason - they're uncomfortable. On yet another hand anti-gravity may be perfectly plausible with this theoretical underpinning. I don't know yet.

Yes! This is what I was trying to say. However, if they are rare artifacts of family houses then it will limit PCs somewhat. If, alternatively, they are common, we could have some serious exchange of personnel. Again, a choice but an interesting one. I could see it being a very cool mission to search out Ancient Tritonian component for the family exo-suit. Alternatively, a Titian trader in his exo-suit hiring a group of heavy worlder brutes for a mission to Venus could be many forms of cool.

Bill

Edit:
So, distinct races. Let's list them.
Tritonians
Titians
Eo?
Ganymedens?
Callistans?
Europans?

Human (Earthling)
Human (Venusian)
Dino (Venusian)
Dino (Martian)
Martian

More? Did you want some Humans, Martians or Dinos on the outer Moons? You had mentioned it but I was not sure if you wanted to keep with that.

I like the differentiation of the light worlders vs the heavy worlders.

See, I would not have put the Dinos on the outer worlds so much. I would think they would thrive like crazy on worlds like Venus and (if they could get to it) Earth. Maybe Mars. Triton, I see as a world with everyone.

So, that said, we wont have current Minervans or moon races? Basically, humans, martian and dino with variations doe to gravity and sun?

We don't have Minervans as PCs. I'd like to keep them mysterious. They are survivors, hidden away in the outer moons somewhere.

Otherwise, yes. Humans, Dinos, and Martians with regional variations.
