This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The Shao-Link:
The cult of enlightened machines and the unique liberating programming it uses is called the Shao Link. They maintain Tech Monasteries throughout the Ten Thousand Stars. These are located where machine codes, sacred to them, are found and consequently stored and protected. Such codes are known as the Codes of Dharma and are the source of the unique software and hardware equipped by Shao Link robots; these are called, collectively, Dharmatech.
These codes through the Tech Monasteries that protect them form a collective cyberspace that is home to some of the most powerful sentient software ever. These entities are known as Arhat Intellects and they are the custodians of this place, called the Diamond Garden
In the meantime however the Shao-Link is vulnerable to the influence of the vile codes of the Mara Machines that seek to destroy and corrupt. Where the Enlightened One sought to bring order and discipline to the information space; the twisted virus of these self replicating machines wishes chaos, even able to corrupt the Chi of living beings.
It is known the Mara Machines are fuelled by Void energy emanating from Dead Stars. Thus the servants of the twisted living virus are compelled to destroy suns. These hideous self replicating machines are powerful; they ape the self awareness of the entities of the Diamond Garden, and cross the line between man and machine. In this way they uniquely feed on the Chi of living beings.

How does this sound? Does it sound ridiculous (ie too ridiculous, or perhaps not ridiculous enough). Robot shaolin monks, but not too bogged down in Buddhist cosmology.

Monster Manuel

I think it's pretty damn cool, actually. Usually, I don't like these kinds of "peanut butter and chocolate" concepts, but this one's a winner.
Proud Graduate of Parallel University.

The Mosaic Oracle is on sale now. It\'s a raw, open-sourced game design Toolk/Kit based on Lurianic Kabbalah and Lambda Calculus that uses English key words to build statements. If you can tell stories, you can make it work. It fits on one page. Wait for future games if you want something basic; an implementation called Wonders and Worldlings is coming soon.

Ghost Whistler

Thanks.

is there anything the concept needs it should obviously have?
