Title: A good site for getting feedback on settings.
Post by: Age of Fable on March 21, 2010, 02:41:00 AM
I recently found this site - //www.thecbg.org

It seems to be a good place to get feedback, at least for settings.

Devoted to the building of settings.

Another Good Site for that sort of thing is //www.strolen.com

The only oddness there is getting used to how to divide setting elements up into the various types of posts.

Thanks for that. I like how you can get feedback on the different bits separately. I might start posting on here once I finish on thecbg.

Having look at strolen further, is there a way to search only for highly-rated submissions?

Thanks for taking a look at the site! Moonhunter pointed me towards this forum and I like what I see!

The search is based off the weight of the search term so rating doesn't come into affect.

However, if you browse using the main categories you can sort those by rating by using the drop downs on the right.

Thanks.

Why is it that some entries that are 'Golden' appear after entries that aren't?

Why is it that some entries that are 'Golden' appear after entries that aren't?

Goldens are determined by a separate voting system than normal votes. Once an author reaches level 6 on the site they are able to nominate and vote on Golden Submissions. Takes an total of 3+ authors to agree so Goldens are somewhat arbitrary based on the likes of the voting authors.

Unfortunately the site: //www.thecbg.org is coming up as riddled with malware in Chrome so I don't feel very comfortable entering it at the mo.

Anyone able to contact the administrators to let them know. It may be a false positive or just something wrong with the site setup.

This has something to do with links to an old site that aren't around anymore or something similar. It happens now and again, but as far as I know no one has ever actually been hit with malware or anything by it.

I've been using the site for just about a year and a half now and no issues at all. Good site, friendly community.

I, too, can assure you the the CBG is perfectly safe. I have been a member there for just over four years.
